Description
AMLR for Senior Management
A senior management course on the impact of AMLR (EU Anti Money Laundering Regulation 2014/1624) on governance, financial crime risk management and strategic decision-making.
Overview
AMLR introduces a significant shift in how senior leaders are expected to oversee financial crime risk. It places greater emphasis on clear decisions, documented oversight and governance that can withstand supervisory challenge. This course provides the insight and direction needed to lead in this environment.
You will understand where AMLR affects you personally, how it influences risk appetite, sector exposure and organisational oversight, and what senior management should consider when preparing the organisation for the new regulatory framework. You will see the impact on customers, systems, monitoring capacity and cost, and how these considerations will continue to evolve after 2027 as the European regulatory and supervisory environment develops.
Each of the 12 executive lessons concludes with an Executive Decision Point, presenting a realistic management situation in which you must apply the principles covered in the lesson and make a judgement from a senior management perspective. Each lesson also highlights the key AMLR articles relevant to its subject, connecting the executive implications to the underlying regulatory framework.
You will learn what evidence senior leaders should expect to have available, how to structure decisions so they are traceable and well supported, and how to build a governance approach that supports ongoing AML/CFT compliance. AMLR is not simply a one-off implementation exercise. It represents a longer-term development in regulatory expectations and management oversight.
This is not a technical AML course. It is strategic information for leaders who need clarity, direction and defensible decision-making.
